View gadgets use a view you have already configured for a screen and shows it on the dashboard. This allows immediate access to information for a specific screen, like Events, Accounts, Activities, etc. To configure a view, see Views.
The below steps assume you are using an already configured dashboard, you are adding a new gadget to the dashboard and you have the proper security to edit the dashboard. See Dashboards for more information about creating a new dashboard and dashboard security.
- Click the Home button from the Global Navigation Bar. Your Dashboard screen opens.
- Select the dashboard to edit from the top of the screen.
- Click the Edit button on the right. The Edit Dashboard screen opens.
- Select the Gadgets tab.
- Click the Add button in the column where you want to add the new gadget. The Add Gadget screen opens.
- Enter a description for the gadget into the Description field. The description shows at the top of the gadget on the dashboard.
- Select the View radio button from the Gadget Type selection.
- Select the screen where you saved your view from the Subject drop-down.
- Select what area of Momentus Enterprise you need for the view from the Subject Context drop-down. For example, if you select All Accounts in the Subject, you can select which type of accounts (Event Sales, Registration, etc.) in the Subject Context drop-down. The drop-down is dependent on which Subject is selected and is not always available.
- Select the view to display from the View field. If the view is not available for selection, see View Not Available for Selection.
- Enter the number of pixels for the height of the gadget in the Height field. Most gadgets work best with a value of 300.
- Click OK.
- Click OK on the Edit Dashboard screen. The view gadget displays on the dashboard.
View Not Available for Selection
If a configured view for a screen is not available for selection, you may not have the access type configured correctly for the view. To verify the Access Type for the view:
- Navigate to the screen where the view is configured.
- Select the view from the View drop-down. The screen refreshes with the selected view.
- Select Save View from the View drop-down. The Save View screen opens.
- Expand the Advanced Options section.
- Verify the correct access is configured in the Access Type section. See Views for more information.
- Make the necessary changes to the access.
- Click OK. Return to the dashboard process to configure the View gadget.

Hi Mirko,
For your first question; I am not able to see a 'save view' button in my version of .96. Dashboards have always used the views from the subject that they referenced, it wasn't a separate 'dashboard only' list of views.
For your second question; you are correct, the option to show filter criteria has been retired in .98 and moving forward. We found that it was rarely used and even when it was used, the filter criteria often didn't fit in the limited space that was allowed in the gadget. If you need to view the search criteria, the 'pop out' button on the left side will display the filter criteria at the top of the expanded page.
Thank you,
Alex
