Silent install/uninstall allows you to install or uninstall Momentus Enterprise on workstations without user interaction. You must perform the silent install/uninstall with Administrator privileges.
The following statements should be used only by those with experience creating silent install and uninstall packages for Windows. Momentus Technologies does not provide assistance with the initial setup of your site’s silent install/uninstall processes.
Silent Uninstall Commands
Use the below uninstall commands to uninstall previous and current Enterprise versions. The uninstall statements use the following convention:
MsiExec.exe /X {Product_Code} /qn
- MsiExec.exe = Microsoft Windows Installer application
- /X = Parameter used to uninstall a package with Windows Installer
- Product_Code = Passed to the Windows Installer to identify which Enterprise application to remove. Every Enterprise version has its own product code.
- /qn = Enterprise recommended parameter to run Windows Installer with a dialog to confirm successful uninstall. Optionally, substitute the /qn parameter for the Windows Installer to have no dialogs and be completely silent. Use appropriate parameters for your organization.

Silent Install Commands
Use the below install commands to install any Enterprise version.
Extract each application's installation files into separate folders on a shared drive or network location accessible from all workstations. Create separate folders for each Enterprise application and version for silent installation. Your silent installation package should look to the appropriate installation file folder for each Enterprise application. For example, use the CD command in a batch file to change the directory to the Runtime folder on a shared drive, then use the Runtime silent install command.
The provided install statements use the following convention:
- Setup.exe = Enterprise application installation file for the application you are installing
- /s = Switch to indicate silent installation mode
- /v” = Passes additional arguments. All subsequent arguments must be within double quotes (“).
- /qn = Installation has no dialogs and is completely silent. Optionally, substitute the /qn parameter for the Windows Installer to have no dialogs and be completely silent. Use appropriate parameters for your organization.
- /qn = Indicates the installation has no dialogs and is completely silent. Optionally, substitute the /qb argument for a successful install dialog. Use the appropriate parameter for your organization.
- If desired, the silent installation can write to a log file using the /lv argument. This file writes to the location specified by your Log_Path.
Runtime Install Commands
Option |
Example Install Command |
Install without Log |
setup.exe /s /v"/qn" |
Install with Log |
setup.exe /s /v"/qn /lv D:\log.txt” |
Enterprise Runtime does not install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.2 with silent install. This is a required component for Enterprise versions v19.82 and above. This program is available from the Microsoft website. Ensure it is properly installed on all workstations before performing the Enterprise Runtime silent install.
