For the system to have an organization be the bill-to account for itself – for example, Smith Convention Center is the bill-to account for Smith Convention Center – a relationship must be added to the account.
The system can automatically create the organization as a bill-to for itself by setting the Scope to “Mandatory” in the Relationship Types for Bill-To. A contact can then be assigned to the Bill-To account.
To do this:
- Navigate to the Account.
- Open the Organizations Tab.
- Click the drop-down arrow next to the Add button.
- Select “Add An Existing Account (Child).”
- The Add Relationship window opens.
- In the Relationship field, enter the name of the account that you wish to designate the Bill-To Account.
- In the “Is A” field select “Billing.”
- A pop-up will appear, making sure you intend to make the account its own Bill-To account. Click Yes.
