Your public-facing users can have the option to select the language they want to use when submitting their web lead so the web pages and options show in their preferred language. To use multiple languages, you must have the languages you want to offer already configured in the Languages page and have your system configured to use alternate descriptions.
Configure Multiple Languages for the Web Lead Form
When you configure multiple languages for web lead forms, you assign a dictionary to each language in the web lead form. This dictionary is used to show the standard system phrases in the language you select.
- Click the Web Lead Forms Configuration link from the Main Menu. The Web Lead Forms Configuration page opens.
- Select the web lead form you want to configure for multiple languages.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Web Lead Form Configuration window opens.
- Select the Languages tab.
- Click the Add button. The Add Public Language window opens.
- Enter the necessary information:
- Dictionary - Dictionary for the online web lead form.
- Language - Language for the online web lead form.
- Region - Regional settings to use for online web lead form.
- Description to Use - Alternate description to use for the online web lead form.
- Default Language - If checked, the language is used the first time a web lead form user accesses the site if the URL they used does not include the language parameter.
- Web Skin - Not applicable to Web Lead Forms.
- Click OK.
Translate Web Lead Form Options to Different Languages
When you configure multiple languages for online web lead forms, you assign the description you want to use for the additional options that are not in the system dictionary, such as the page headings and summaries. You manage these translations using alternate descriptions.
On each of the pages where you configure the page titles, headings and summaries, you can add the alternate descriptions to your page layout and configure the translation for each. See Web Lead Forms Content Builder for details on adding each component.
