Membership was rewritten in v30.97 to use a new process. For continuity purposes, the previous Membership functionality remains available but is referred to as Legacy Membership. In v30.97 and later, membership functionality is referred to as Membership.
You can use Membership to create, renew and administer your members in Momentus Enterprise. Membership types combined with membership statuses allow you to generate installments based on membership periods that simplify your member and accounts receivable processes. You can use the renewal process to renew one or multiple renewals with a single click.
To configure membership, you need to create:
- Membership Categories: Used to segment memberships for reporting purposes.
- Prospective Member Statuses: Indicates where a prospective member is in the overall process.
- Membership Statuses: Indicates where a membership is in the overall process.
- Membership Installments: Intervals for billing a membership.
- Membership Types: Memberships you offer to your members.
- Membership Periods: Length of time for a membership.
After you create those, you can add prospective members, new individual and group memberships to your contacts.
A prospective member is someone who is interested in a membership but has not yet purchased the membership.
An individual membership includes only a single member. For example, a sports club may offer Gold, Silver, and Bronze memberships that an individual can purchase. You can create a membership type for each level (Gold, Silver, Bronze) and within the membership type, include the items for each membership level.
Group memberships include multiple members. When you create a group membership, you add it to one of the members in the group and then add additional members to it. For example, you may offer a baseball camp that offers training to teams. With a group membership, you can add each member of the team to the team (group) membership.
