An account position is assigned to a contact to designate the position the contact has within their organization.

Add an Account Position
To create an account position:
- Navigate to the Account Positions page and click Add. The Add Account Position window opens.
- Enter the following information:
- Description: Name of the position.
- Status: Active positions are available for selection from the Position drop-down.
- Code: Unique alphanumeric value.
- Click OK.
Edit an Account Position
The information for an account position can be edited after it's created. When you edit the information for an account position, it updates wherever the account position is used. If you don't want to update the already existing account position data, then you must add a new account position.
- Navigate to the Account Positions page and select the account position to edit.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Account Position window opens.
- Update the necessary information.
- Click OK.
Inactivate an Account Position
To stop using an account position while keeping a record for reporting or other purposes, make it inactive. When you make an account position inactive, it is no longer available for selection in the Position drop-down.
- Navigate to the Account Positions page and select the account position to make inactive.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Account Position window opens.
- From the Status drop-down, select Inactive.
- Click OK.
Delete an Account Position
To stop using an account position and remove it completely, delete it. If the account position is still in use, a prompt will ask you to choose another account position to replace it. The delete and replace process cannot be undone.
- Navigate to the Account Positions page and right-click on the account position to delete.
- Select Mark for Delete.
- Click Save. The Replace window opens.
- Select the new value from the drop-down to replace the deleted account position.
- Click OK.
