There is no official barcode scanner recommendation. The barcode scanner should handle 1D barcodes (code 128), 2D barcodes, or QR codes. These are standard in the industry and are generally supported by all common barcode scanners.
When using custom badge reports, the syntax encoded must have RCI:A:00000000;; within it where 00000000 is the account code for sign in. For additional information about custom badge reports, contact your Value Success Manager or Strategic Client Executive.

There is a wildcard named *Check-In Barcode (122105)*, that can be assigned to the custom Bar/QR-Code (rightclick - "Edit Badge Template Item"). This wildcard contains the "RCI:A:00000000;;" text for the according participant.
