To temporarily or permanently prevent a user from accessing Momentus Enterprise, you can retire the user. Retired users cannot log in to Momentus Enterprise.
All roles and access privileges are removed when you retire a user. If you are retiring a user for a period of time and plan to reactive the user, save the User Profile report for the user to ensure the proper roles and access are reassigned when the user is made active again.
To retire a user:
- In the Main Menu, search for and select Users. The Users page opens.
- Select the user to retire.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit User window opens.
- Check Retire.
- Select the User Preferences & Defaults tab.
- Set the User Type to blank. This removes the license from this user, so you can add it to another user.
- Click OK.
If you are a Momentus Cloud customer on SaaS license and you need to permanently delete the user (no longer taking a user license), you also need to drop the user through the Hosting Portal. See the Drop User section in Hosting Portal Instructions for more information.

Is it possible to simplify this by ticking the box marked Hold?

The "Hold" checkbox is really only used for informational purposes only and is not linked to any functionality in the application. I can see an administrator ticking this checkbox to flag a new user that they are currently configuring for access management or setting up for the first time.

Yes, changing the Login ID for the user would work.
If using v20, you would also have to change the user's email address as well, since the user can either log in to the database with their Login ID or using their email address.

Where is the retire button in V20?

On the Edit Users window, there is a Retire checkbox field that you can tick to retire the user. If you do not see this field on the Edit Users window, then your Administrator will need to add this field to your window layout by going through the Edit Layout hyperlink.
It is usually on the main General screen next to the Email address field for the user and just above the login ID field.
