What do you mean with (if you are an admin User with the respective access rights). Which access rights do you need to have the change password option?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Adri,

The user needs to have an Access Level of Administrator in order to change someone else's password.  This is done on the Edit User screen in the Access Level drop-down.

    Thanks,
    Maggie

    Thanks Maggie,

I already am an administrator. Still the action change password is missing. I have granted the action change password, but that does not make any sense. Only the user USIADMIN does have this action. I have exactly the same access rights. Do you have another suggestion?

    Thanks

    Adri

    Hi Adri,

Please verify that your user and the USIADMIN user are assigned the exact same roles.  This isn't necessarily the answer but helps identify if the problem exists in a particular role (an access problem) or if there is possibly something else at play (see below).

I did some more digging and what type of authentication you are using may control the Change Password action.

Please enter a case with our Client Care Team and they can look at it more closely.

    Thanks,

    Maggie

    Hi Maggie,

I did and the issue is solved. When I login via sso, I do not have the 'change password' option available. But when I login with my password, I do.

    Thanks.

    Forgetting a Password

If a user has forgotten his/her password, follow the below steps:

    1.  On the Ungerboeck Software login screen, click the I forgot my password link. (THERE IS NO PROMPT FOR FORGETTING A PASSWORD.  NOW WHAT?!)

    2.  On the Forgot My Password screen, enter the User ID.

    3.  Click OK.

    4.  An email will be sent to the email address for that user which will include instructions on setting a new password.

    Hi Leanne,

Sorry to hear you are having problems.  When you click that I forgot my password link, a small screen should pop up that allows you to enter your User ID.  If you aren't seeing that, please contact our Client Care Team so they can review your configuration.

    Thanks,
    Maggie

How do we change the User Password Scheme limits? In other words, how do we set it up so a User on the system has to change their password every 90 days?

    Hi Momentus,

As we still rely on logging in via the Cloud Services Portal for logins other than SSO, it would be nice to have a longer password length here, I'd like to see 12 characters as a minimum requirement.

I would also like to exclude common variants and repetitions or keyboard patterns such as "asdfgh" or "1234abcd" as unsuitable passwords - is there already some sort of blacklist for common insecure passwords?

    Many thanks in advance

    Mirko

    Hi Mirko,

The software does not currently support blacklisting known insecure password variants. This is an interesting idea for non-SSO users, please consider submitting an enhancement request to our product team describing the use-case and any parameters you would like to see supported.

    To submit an enhancement request:

    1. Access the Support Center. (https://supportcenter.ungerboeck.com )

    2. Go to The Community by clicking on the Collaborate! button.

    3. Click on the Product Ideas tab.

    4. Click the Enter the Forum button for the forum where you would like to add the enhancement request. (I recommend adding this item as a System Administration Product Idea.)

    5. Click the Create a Post in this Topic button.

    6. Complete the form and click the Submit button.

    Regards,

    Sam
