If you modify a standard report and add a parameter, you may notice that you are now receiving two report prompts. The first report prompt is the standard report prompt for the report. The second report prompt is the report prompt with the additional parameter.
Two report prompts display because most standard report prompts (like the Service Order Confirmation or the Registration Confirmation) have their own special report prompt that is only filling specific parameters in the Crystal Report. When the report runs, however, it sees that the new parameter does not have a value and so Crystal Reports prompts the user for a value.
Because the second report prompt is a Crystal Reports prompt and not an internal software prompt, none of the Active Parameters or special lookup fields are available. If you need to use a special lookup field, it is best to remove any unneeded parameters from the report file and add a Custom Report entry using the Auto Generated Prompt.
