You can use management report codes (also called MRCs) to better organize, classify and report on your resources. Typically management report codes are used to create a more granular level for a resource than the other standard resource fields allow.
Add a Management Report Code
- Click the Management Report Codes link from the Main Menu. The Management Report Codes page opens.
- Click the Add button. The Add Management Report Code window opens.
- Enter the following information:
- Code - Unique alphanumeric value.
- Description - Name of the management report code.
- Heading 1/Heading 2/Heading 3 -
- Click OK.
Assign a Management Report Code to a Resource
After you create your management report codes, you can assign them to your resources. To assign a management report code to a single resource:
- Click the Resources link from the Main Menu. The Resources page opens.
- Select the resource to assign the management report code.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Resource window opens.
- Select the Additional Information tab.
- Expand the Groups section.
- Select the management report code for the resource from the Mgmt Rpt Code drop-down.
- Click OK.
To assign a management report code to several resources at one time:
- Click the Resources link from the Main Menu. The Resources page opens.
- Select the resources to assign the management report code. Use Ctrl+Click or Shift+Click to select multiple resources.
- Right-click and select Edit Multiple. The Edit Multiple Resources window opens.
- Check the check box for Mgmt Rpt Code.
- Select the management report code to assign to the selected resources from the drop-down.
- Click OK.
Change a Management Report Code
You can change the information for a management report code once you have created it. When you change the information for a management report code, it updates wherever the management report code is used. If you don't want to update the already existing management report code data, then you must add a new management report code using the steps in Add a Management Report Code.
- Click the Management Report Code link from the Main Menu. The Management Report Codes page opens.
- Select the management report code to edit.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Management Report Code window opens.
- Update the information for the management report code.
- Click OK.
Inactivate a Management Report Code
If you no longer use a management report code but want to keep record of it for reporting or other purposes, you can make it inactive. When you make a management report code inactive, it is no longer available for selection.
- Click the Management Report Codes link from the Main Menu. The Management Report Codes page opens.
- Select the management report code to make inactive.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Management Report Code window opens.
- Uncheck the Status box. Note: The Status field may need to be added to the window layout.
- Click OK.
Delete a Management Report Code
If you no longer use a management report code and don't want to keep a record of it, you can delete it. You cannot undo the delete process.
- Click the Management Report Codes link from the Main Menu. The Management Report Codes page opens.
- Right-click on the management report code to delete.
- Select Mark for Delete.
- Click the Save button.

Hi Sean and Linda -
We have add this enhancement request to our backlog. I do not have an ETA on when this will be completed, but we do agree that a retired flag should exist on management report codes.
Thanks!

What is the purpose of the headings and the subordinate designation? Is that limited to management report codes section or does that extend to other areas in the system?
