When you modify a standard Crystal Report, often it is easiest to refresh the report in the Crystal Reports environment as it saves time in re-publishing the report and refreshing your environment. When working with reports which have a large set of parameters, it is sometimes difficult to know what is passed between the report prompt and the Crystal Report by the software.
You can turn on the Report Audit Log to store information about each generated report, including a list of parameters used to run the specific report. Once you turn on the Report Audit Log, you can use this information to help fill out the parameters when using the Preview functionality in Crystal Reports.
To turn on the Report Audit Log:
- Click the Organization Parameters link from the Main Menu. The Organization Parameters screen opens.
- Click the Add button. The Add Organization Parameter screen opens.
- Enter the following information:
- Application - AA

- Note - This parameter allows turning on verbose logging for report server 2.X.X and up. If set to Y, it writes a verbose log to the MM862 table per report run. The log give in-depth information about report the report executed. If the Amount is set to 1, verbose logging is turned on and a comma delimited list in the Alphanumeric Value allows you to choose what to log. The logs that are written are dependent on the report server version. These logs are on 2.4.1 and up.
