I have just installed office addin and taking a look at what it can do however I am getting the shell error message - I know where document classes are but where in the classes should the shell be created?  I am doing an account template but in my classes there is no document folder for this - should one be created - is it a docx shell that is required?  Many thanks

    Hi Theresa,

The Office Add-In uses the Word document class.  There's a good chance that it already exists and that you simply need to add a .docx shell document.  Here's how to do this.

    1. Find your Word document class within Document Management

    2. Edit the document class

    3. Verify that you have both .DOC and .DOCX in the Document Extensions section.  If you don't have both .DOC and .DOCX, right click in the white area > Insert > type .DOCX in the Document Extension field > click Default

    4. Find Shell: Click to Replace or Click to Add and click the link

    5. Navigate to the location in the Document path > Right click > New > Microsoft Word document. Rename it to USISHELL.DOCX.  Highlight it and click Open.

    6. Click OK on the Edit Document Class window.  Close out of Ungerboeck and log back in.  At this point, you should be able to add a document template through v20.

If you're still unable to do this, please create a ticket, and your regional Support team will get in touch with you to help troubleshoot.

    Thanks!

I am currently testing with 20.82E x3 but am testing with office 2016.  I am having issues one if which is the shell not formatted.  Is office 2016 fully supported - we ant to upgrade to the new office software but not if there are known issues, especially with EBMS spreadsheets

    Hi Theresa,

Office 2016 should work with Excel Reporting, which is EBMS Spreadsheets for 19.82.  Can you verify that you have USISHELL.xls in the EBMS Spreadsheets document class folder?

If you're having any specific difficulties, please enter a Support ticket through https://supportcenter.ungerboeck.com, and your regional Client Care team will get in touch with you shortly thereafter.

I may do that - I have overcome the usishell error but there are other issues now with opening and editing ebms spreadsheets that were created prior to 20.82
