An inventory chain is a group of storage locations. They are used to create a link between an event and storage locations to ensure items used for the event are taken from the expected location.
For example: There are multiple exhibition halls and you have multiple storage locations (warehouses / storage rooms). In this example, there are 2 warehouses - one in the West and one in the East. Each of these warehouses represents an inventory chain - one for the West and one for the East. Depending on the hall(s) where the event takes place, you can assign the West warehouse or the East warehouse to the event.
To configure real-time inventory checking with multiple inventory locations, see Real-Time Inventory Checking with Multiple Inventory Locations.
