Account Levels

You use GL account levels to organize and categorize your GL accounts on the GL Accounts screen. The posting account level is system controlled.

Add a GL Account Level

  1. Click the Account Levels link from the Main Menu. The Account Levels screen opens.
  2. Click the Add button. The Add Account Level screen opens.
  3. Enter the following information:
    • Description - Name for the account level.
    • Level - Unique alphanumeric value.
    • Text Color - Font color for the GL account description for any GL account assigned to the account level.
    • Indent - Number of spaces the GL account assigned to the level is indented.
    • Bold - If checked, the GL account description for any GL account assigned to the account level displays in bold.
    • Italics - If checked, the GL account description for any GL account assigned to the account level displays in italics.
    • Underline - If checked, the GL account description for any GL account assigned to the account level is underlined.
  4. Click OK.

Change a GL Account Level

You can change the information for a GL account level after you have created it. When you change the GL account level, it updates for all GL accounts assigned to the GL account level. 

  1. Click the Account Levels link from the Main Menu. The Account Levels screen opens.
  2. Select the GL account level to edit.
  3. Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Account Level screen opens.
  4. Make the desired change.
  5. Click OK.

Delete a GL Account Level

If you no longer use a GL account level and don't want to keep a record of it, you can delete it. You can only delete GL account levels that are not assigned to GL accounts. You cannot delete the posting account (0) level. You cannot undo the delete process.

  1. Click the Account Levels link from the Main Menu. The Account Levels screen opens.
  2. Right-click on the GL account level to delete.
  3. Select Mark for Delete.
  4. Click the Save button.

    I think there might an error on this screen - these two points seem to be on the wrong screen:

    • Class - Select if the cancellation reason is available for events at a cancelled status (Cancel), lost status (Lost) or both (Both). If it applies only to cancelled events, the reason is only available when selecting a cancel status on the Cancel Event screen. If it applies only to lost events, the reason is only available when selecting a lost status on the Cancel Event screen.
    • Sequence - Determines the order the reason displays in the drop-down on the Cancel Event screen.
