If you are experiencing a delay when attempting to open the Send Email screen from the Report Viewer, verify the following:
- Check for any custom triggers on tables CC810, EV870, AR030, ER100 or CC801. Custom triggers on these tables can cause some other processes to take longer to complete.
- If the temp file location where the report is being exported to is on a shared drive, has little storage space, and/or is heavily used by others at the same time, it can slow the process for attaching the report to the email. The system uses the temp file location to export the PDF when attaching it to an email.

one more question on this - when emailing report directly, is there any option we can default to excel rather pdf ?

I'm guessing it is the User's Working Directory.
By default, it is C:\USLP900 (very legacy path)

Thanks Sean - so there is no such org parameter that controls this legacy path ?

It's not an Org Parm, it is the 'Working Directory' value in the User Settings or Edit User screen.
