To create a new connection via Crystal Reports follow these steps:
- Open Crystal and navigate to File -> Log On or Off Server.
- In the Data Explorer, navigate to Create New Connection and choose OLE DB (ADO), then select Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server.
- Enter your server information (if you are unsure of what your server is, you can find the server name and database name via the software by going to Help -> About).
- You will not enter in your user ID or password. Check the box Integrated Security and then choose your database from the drop-down.

What do we do after this step?

Sherri,
That should be it. Once the connection is set up, you can begin creating Crystal reports and match fields/formulas to your database.
Thanks!

Mike...does this have to be changed for ALL existing reports? I'm opening an existing report and change the server to what you have listed above, but no data comes back in my report.

Hi Lori,
It shouldn't need to be changed for any standard reports. If you have custom reports that are using an older database connection, you will probably need to update to your current database connection. For example, if you moved hosted environments from hosted.ungerboeck.com to cloud1.ungerboeck.com, your database server will be different. You can go to Help -> About in the software to see your current database server.
Thanks,
Mike

I'm able to connect and get data if I create a new report, but unable to get data to return on any existing reports.
