When a job is booked, a start date time and end date time is required to create the job. The start and end date/time for a job represents when a job needs to start and be completed by. However, some jobs have a start date but an end date has not yet been specified, and those jobs still need to be recorded. In this situation, use the Unscheduled feature.
When booking a job, if unscheduled is ticked then the date and time is not required for the job and these fields will be grayed out. Using unscheduled jobs allows facility managers to record a job request and schedule them at a later date. This ensures that all job requests are recorded in a centralized database.
Once a job has been booked as unscheduled, it will not appear in the job master window unless Show Unscheduled Jobs box is ticked. A separate view can be created where it only shows unscheduled jobs. By using this view facility managers or coordinators can monitor and schedule jobs that has been marked as unscheduled.
It is best practice to enter a date and time for any unscheduled jobs when it is known so that the job appears on any reports that has been developed. More importantly, if iEBMS job processing is used then a date and time will need to be assigned to the job so that facilities staff can view the jobs assigned to them to action.
