You can configure Momentus Enterprise to display a notification in the Global Navigation Bar that you have activities, and you can view those activities in the notification drop-down. Cancelled and completed activities do not show in notifications.
To configure notifications:
- Click your user name in the Global Navigation Bar.
- Select User Settings. The Edit User window opens.
- Select the User Preferences & Defaults tab.
- Expand the Activity Notifications section.
- Configure the following fields:
- Momentus: Check the check box to indicate you want notifications in Momentus Enterprise.
- Lead Time (in minutes): Number of minutes before the activity is due you want to receive the notification.
- Frequency (in seconds): Number of seconds the system checks for new activities which meet the lead time.
- Click OK.
The activity notification icon displayed on the Global Nav Bar is limited to a maximum value of 50 currently due or overdue reminder activities. If you have more than 50 activities waiting for your attention, the notification will only show the most recent 50.

Is it widely known that the opening paragraph is only true for the one day that the activity is Due? I have an activity that was due yesterday. The activity has not been touched but today the GN notification is gone.
Checked Out documents remain on the GN Bar until they are checked in. Because I didn't get around to completing my activity on the due date, now that it is overdue is more of a reason to have it remain there.
Can you please advise how we can make due AND overdue activities display?\
Thanks.

Sean, we are aware of this functionality and per Product Management it is in the plans to change it, but I don't have a schedule for when that will happen.

we don't seem to be receiving notifications via email, although the box is ticked and and trace service is enabled.
Thanks

Hi Kris,
I'm sorry you're having an issue. That sounds like a bug. Would you please submit a ticket to Support?
Thank you!

Where do we set the Default Values for Activity Notifications, and other User Settings? E.g. When Adding a New User, Ungerboeck is ticked as a default Activity Notification? I would like to ensure the Global Navigation icon is enabled/active for all new users.
I tried Editing the Layout, and Editing the Field, but nothing within for defaults. Nothing in System or Org Parameters either.

Hi Jason! At this time it's not possible to set them as defaults. You can edit multiple to set them en masse, but there isn't a default option.
Thanks,
Carrie

Hi Carrie, No we cannot set Activity Notifications en masse as they are not Edit Multiple options.
Thus, not only is the default for new users to not get Activity Notifications when cannot edit multiples to turn them on. I hope Development is looking at addressing this?

Jason, I apologize, I did give you the wrong information. I have passed on this request directly to Product Management and asked them to include these fields in edit multiple.

One year after, do we have any news of the roadmap about the issue raised by Sean ?
My users do not understand why these notifications disappear after some time.
This makes the feature quite useless for them.
Thanks

Indeed, my new clients do not understand why their notification disappears. They believe the Activity has been completed but it hasn't.

Hi USI, do you have an update on Sean's issue please?

I'll join the "bump" of Sean's issue... the lack of notification persistence (to show overdue activities) is one of the hurdles that made activities less reliable/useful for us.
Zak.

Hello
Wondering if there has been any further discussion or resolution on this?
We need to be able to see the notifications past the due time as well.

Another bump, USI any updates?

Still no updates?
I'm told that Development considers that you should have actioned the activity on the day it was due, and if you don't then it is passed and you don't need to be concerned with it anymore.
Does that apply to the trace I set for when my USI maintenance is due?
In the real world, activities don't get completed by the time they are due a very large percentage of the time, and to think otherwise seems unrealistic.

In 20.94 Service Release C, the indicator has been updated to look for any past due activities in the last 90 days in addition to any upcoming activities. How far out in the future it looks still looks at the settings attached to the user but the 90 days in the past is not configurable.
