If you receive the following message when you add an opportunity to an account, you can update the opportunity to allow for duplicates.
The opportunity type you selected already exists on another opportunity for this account. Please select a different type and try your request again.
To allow duplicates for opportunities:
- Click the Opportunity Types link for the applicable area of the software for the opportunity (Event Sales, Registration, etc.). The Opportunities page opens.
- Select the opportunity type to update. If you do not see the opportunity type, you may need to access the Opportunity Type screen from a different module (Membership, Registration, etc.).
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Opportunity Type window opens.
- Check the Allow Duplicates check box.
- Click OK.
