When documents have to be physically moved, there are necessary changes that must be made in Momentus Enterprise This information is relevant if you are not currently using Document Management, or using Document Management but have yet to transfer the existing network files into the database.
The physical move of the documents can be done within the server's operating system as with any other file. Due to the size, Momentus recommends zipping the files for speed and integrity of the files being moved. This step is completely independent of Momentus Enterprise
Enterprise references these files via the MM446 table. The MM446 table contains the "path" to the document, and therefore this is what must be updated. Follow the below steps to update the document path:
1. After moving the files, click the Document Classes link from the Main Menu. The Document Classes screen opens.
2. Display the Document path column.
3. For each document class (Word, Excel, EBMScad, etc.), verify the path points to the location from which you just moved the documents.
4. Select a single document class.
5. Click the Change Drive Mapping button. The Change Drive Mapping screen opens.
6. Enter the old path (folder) for the document class into the From Path field.
7. Enter the new path (folder) into the To Path field.
8. Click OK. A SQL statement updates the MM446 records for each document of that type.
9. Repeat steps 4-8 for each document class you are using. Tip: Anything that uses the "Z" drive is probably not in use by your team since that is the default shipped with the software.
