Information for a service order item, such as the item description, unit charge, start and end dates and times, can all be edited if the item is open and you have security to edit the item information. To edit a service order item, follow the below steps:
1. From the Main Menu, click the Events button.
2. Select the event which contains the service order with the item to be edited.
3. From here, there are multiple ways to edit the service order item:
- Click on the Service Order Items tab and edit the information for the item directly in the Service Order Items grid. Click Save once the information has been updated.
- Click on the Service Order Items tab. Select the service order item to be edited, right-click and select Edit -> Edit.
- Click on the Service Orders tab. Select the service order, right-click and select Edit -> Edit. On Edit Service Order, click on the Service Order Items tab, select the service order item, right-click and select Edit -> Edit.
4. On the Edit Service Order Item screen, update the necessary information and click OK.

Hi,
Is there a way we can remove editing of Unit Charge and Description for some Item form the price list?
The user can only make change to the order units.
Thanks.

Hi all,
I am struggling to give a new role access to edit the unit charge, I have already added the privilege 'Override Item/Service Charge by Department' and set this to all details. Under Access Exceptions I have granted the Column/Field 'Unit Charge' and still the user is unable to edit the unit charge.
Is there any other permissions I should be granting?
Thanks,
Asha

Kris - we would expect item min/max to be enforced on Forecast Orders. If you are finding that's not the case, go ahead and enter a support ticket. Thanks.

Kris - there should not be any additional setup needed to enforce item minimums or maximums. You may want to double check the price list being used on your order is the price list where you configured the min/max on the items. If it's still not working, go ahead and enter a ticket. Thanks.

Hi
I am entering a number for the min and max units for an item on the price list and upon adding the item to the order I can go below the min and above the max units for the order.
Is there something else that needs to be activated in order for this to work?
Thanks
Kris

Hi Asha,
Thanks for the additional information!
Can you check to see if the item is marked as "Fixed"? To do this, you need to edit the item in v19 and there is a Fixed checkbox on the Edit Item screen - it's to the right of the Extended label. If this checkbox is checked, then the Unit Charge on the item can't be updated.
Thanks,
Maggie

Hi Maggie!
The field is grayed out however all other fields are able to be edited.
I just looked to see if it was every order and it was just one - that makes me think that it is the specific service order or the resource used that is causing the problem.
Thank you,
Asha :)

Hi Asha,
Could you provide some additional information? This will help us narrow down what to look at.

Hi Kris,
The Time Units is only available for items with Day, Night, Week or Hour unit of times. If the Unit of Time is set to Each, then it is locked down for editing which sounds like is the case in this situation. The Unit of Time is different than the Unit of Measure which is the value that displays next to the Units field on the Edit Service Order Item field. Make sure you show the U/T field or column to see which Unit of Time is being used on the item.
Thanks,
Maggie

I am unable to override the time units for an item, how can I do this?
also the same item is over 2 days but the time unit is set to 1 and this is what I can't change, any ideas why?

Hi Kris,
Looks like a bug here. You can override the time units but not when you add the item.
I added 1 x item. The editable Time Units column is completely blank. I enter 1 (for 1 hour) and press Save. The item is added to the order but with the Function Duration time units.
I can edit the item and re-enter my time units and it saves just fine.
I believe that when you select a qty of an item, the time units should fill with the Function Duration to show you what will be entered. If you override it here, it should save.

Can you not 'override time units' for forecast orders?

Hi Mavis,
There isn't the ability to protect the information for a specific item. You could restrict the changing of the Unit Charge by using the Override Item/Service Charge by Department and assigning those items you want to restrict to a particular department but that would have impacts through work orders and potentially revenue distribution as well.
Thanks,
Maggie

Hi Sean,
That works if we want to "Protect" all Unit charge and Description.
What i am trying now is to only "Protect" certain line item in the price list.

Hi Mavis,
Have you tried setting Field Restrictions for those Roles? I think you would want to set the necessary fields to 'Protect' meaning they can see them but not edit them. I'd give that a try.
