    Very helpful article.

I am interested to know what happens if an item is not a part of the new price list and is copied over from the old price list.

As i have tested this, i see the old item is copied over regardless of any message or warnings that the item in the new price list does not exist. Any suggestions on how could we ensure that the items which are brought forward/repriced/recosted is from the new price list only?

    Hi Himanshu,

How are you creating the new price list? Can you provide me the steps you are using?

    Thanks,
    Maggie

    Hi Maggie,

An example would be copying price list from last year. Once the price list is copied, delete old item and add new items in. This is one type of process that i am using for testing.

    Detailed steps:
    1. Select the price list to be copied
    2. Right click>copy
    3. I’ll use date fields to control the price list access.
    4. Include prices and notes checkbox is checked.
    5. Ok and new price list will be created.
Further steps to clean up will be
    6. Select the items that are not required in the current price list and add new items with prices.

Let me know if i’ve missed out on anything. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Himanshu,

The recost/reprice process doesn't change any of the items on the order but only updates the price and/or cost of the items and assigns the new price list to the order.  There is a screen after the recost/reprice order process that lists all the items that were not updated and the reason. You could use that list to go back and update the order items to remove or update the ones that are no longer on the new price list.

    Thanks,

    Maggie
