Registration Check-In (RCI) allows you to check-in registrants for an event or a function. There are three options for registration check-in:
- Mobile Check-In - You check the registrants in onsite using a mobile device. This is done through the Registration Check-In (RCI) iOS mobile app.
- Self Check-In - Registrants check themselves in onsite using a computer or kiosk. This is done through a URL provided by Momentus.
- Back Office Check-In - Staff checks the registrant in using the software's back office application. There is no special configuration needed for back office check-in.
The Mobile Check-In and Self Check-In options allow you to print a badge at check-in.
Configure Registration Check-In (RCI)
For both mobile check-in and self check-in, you first have to configure Registration Check-In within the software.
- Click the Registration Check-In (RCI) link from the Main Menu. The Registration Check-In Configurations screen opens.
- Click the Add button. The Add Registration Check-In Configuration screen opens.
- Enter the following information:
- Description - Name of the configuration. This does not show on the Registration Check-In site.
- Administrators - Select the user(s) who can sign in to Registration Check-In as an administrator. Administrators can check-in registrants and print badges en masse.
- Use this configuration for - Select if the Registration Check-In configuration is for only the events that you select (Events that I specifically select) or for events that meet a set of criteria (Events that meet specific criteria).
- Allow Check-in Based on These Orders Statuses - Only registrants on registration orders matching the selected order status(es) are available for check-in.
- Show Account Details on Verification Page - If checked, the registrant checking in is shown account demographic fields and a profile image to verify the registrant's identity before checking in.
- Enter the following information into the Selected Events or Event Criteria section:
- Events - Select the event(s) available for check-in. Only available if Events that I specifically select is selected in the Use this configuration for drop-down.
- Note that the Event's Sensitivity on the Edit Event window must be set to Public in order for attendees to be able to select it in the RCI page.
- The following options are only available if Events that meet specific criteria is selected in the Use this configuration drop-down:
- Event Status Range - Events at a status within the selected range are available for check-in.
- Category - Events assigned to the selected categories are available for check-in.
- Class - Events assigned to the selected classes are available for check-in.
- Type - Events assigned to the selected types are available for check-in.
- Show Events starting before today by - Enter the number of days prior to the current date to show events for check-in.
- Show Events starting after today by - Enter the number of days after the current date to show events for check-in.
- Hide Events where Move Out Date is prior to today - If checked, events with a move out date before the current date are not available for check-in.
- Events - Select the event(s) available for check-in. Only available if Events that I specifically select is selected in the Use this configuration for drop-down.
- Enter the following information into the More Settings section:
- Default Page Timeout - Time (in seconds) the page idles before timing out. Only applicable for Self Check-In.
- Default Confirmation Page Timeout - A confirmation page appears after a registrant checks in. Enter the time (in seconds) this confirmation idles before timing out. Only applicable for Self Check-In.
- Enable Function Check-In - If checked, registrants can check into functions. See the Function Check-In article for more information.
- Allow Registrants to Check-In to Any Function - If checked, you can check an event registrant into any function; it is not required for the registrant to register for the function.
- Page Timeout URL - URL that loads when the page times out. Only applicable for Self Check-In.
- Confirmation Page Timeout URL - URL that loads when the confirmation page times out. Only applicable for Self Check-In.
- Select Event Banner - Select the event information to display on the event screen during check-in. Only applicable for Self Check-In.
- Description, Date and Time - Displays the event description, start date and time and end date and time.
- Description Only - Displays the event description.
- Hide Event Banner - The event description, start date and time and end date and time are hidden.
- Select Function Banner - Select the function information to display on the function screen during check-in. Only applicable for Self-Check and if Enable Function Check-In is checked.
- Description, Date and Time - Displays the function description, start date and time and end date and time.
- Description Only - Displays the function description.
- Hide Function Banner - The function description, start date and time and end date and time are hidden.
- Enter the following information into the Display Modes section:
- Enable Desktop Mode - If checked, a desktop link is available for you to allow registrants to check-in themselves. Use this option if a keyboard is available for typing.
- Enable Searching by - Check the check box(es) for the search options you want available to registrants to locate themselves. Confirmation Code is the order number.
- Enable Kiosk Mode - If checked, a kiosk link is available for you to allow registrants to check-in themselves. This option is responsive and used for touchscreens.
- Enable Searching by - Check the check box(es) for the search options you want available to registrants to locate themselves. Note the following:
- Confirmation Code is the order number.
- Check Enable On-Screen Keyboard if there is no keyboard available to the registrant and you use a touchscreen.
- Enable Searching by - Check the check box(es) for the search options you want available to registrants to locate themselves. Note the following:
- Enable Desktop Mode - If checked, a desktop link is available for you to allow registrants to check-in themselves. Use this option if a keyboard is available for typing.
- Enter the following information into the Attendee Menu Setup section. Only applicable for Self-Check-In.
- Allow Attendee to Check-in Without Having to Print - If checked, registrants can check-in and not print a badge.
- Enable Badge Printing - If checked, registrants can print badges during the check-in process.
- Show Badge Preview Prior to Printing - If checked, registrants can view a preview of their badge before printing.
- Allow Attendee to Make Corrections to Badge Prior - If checked, registrants can make changes to the badge before printing. Select the information the registrant can change from the Attendee May Correct drop-down.
- Allow Reprint - If checked, registrants can print an additional badge if one was already printed.
- Badge Print Layout - Only applicable for two-sided badges. Select if the back of the badge should print Side by side or Top to bottom.
- Show Badge Preview Prior to Printing - If checked, registrants can view a preview of their badge before printing.
- View, Check-in, Print Badges for Related Attendees - If checked, registrants can view, check-in and print badges for other registrants from the same registration order.
- Enter the following information into the Appearance section:
- Web Skin - Select the web skin for the desktop and/or kiosk check-in pages. The Web skin controls the colors, fonts, etc. of the web page used for check-in. Web skins are created and maintained from the Web Skins link on the Main Menu. Only applicable for Self Check-In.
- Language - Click the Configure link to add additional languages. If you configure more than one language, check-in uses the default dictionary but a drop-down is available for the registrant to select another language.
- Click OK.

I have a couple of templates. How do I navigate to the participate facing login screen? The link I have never loads. Does the event have to be in a specific status?

Hi Katie,
Where are you getting the URL you are using? It's not using the format I would expect to see. What stands out to me is that it's using CC= where I'd expect AppCode=.
