Housing is used to streamline your processes when working with local accommodation providers to plan and secure reservations for your events. The accommodation information for each provider is stored in Momentus Enterprise, where it can be compared against the accommodation requirements of a potential event. If you are using the Registration module, Housing can also be used to present accommodation options to event registrants during the online registration process.
The Housing functionality does not directly reserve a room with a hotel or lodging provider. The registrant or an event coordinator acting on behalf of the registrant must complete an actual reservation with the hotel or lodging provider.

Housing Configuration
Before you start any Housing configuration, ensure the prerequisite setup is complete. Your Housing configuration will depend on where you are using housing in Enterprise. If you use housing:
- for Registration only, see Housing for Registration.
- for Hospitality, see Housing for Hospitality.
If you are unsure which Housing option you should configure, please connect with your primary Momentus contact.
Housing for Registration
The Housing feature in Registration allows you to enable event registrants to select their accommodation requirements when registering for an event. This also allows internal users to set room blocks based on the accommodations' availability and room occupancy types. This is configured in the registration setup on each event.
Step-by-step instructions outlining how to configure Registration Housing are available in Configure Housing for Online Registration.
Housing for Hospitality
The hospitality Housing feature allows salespeople to review event space and hotel room availability for incoming leads and add it into a proposal from within Enterprise, without having to go between systems. This information can be entered manually, or there is an option to have an integration with a Property or Revenue Management System through the API.
Salespeople can view these availabilities for the event space and accommodation on the Group Room Calendar. See the Group Room Calendar article for more information.
To configure the hospitality housing see Configure Housing for Hospitality for more information.
Prerequisite Setup
Be sure to set up the items below before configuring Housing for an event or event opportunity.
Create a Note Class for Property Information
You can add a note to a property account with a detailed description of the property, its features or amenities, and images of the property or room type. You can then display this note during online registration when registrants are selecting their preferred housing. You need to create a note class that is used for only this purpose. See Note Classes for details on creating new note classes.
Create Unit of Time for Nights
Housing is usually offered and billed on a per night basis. If not already configured, create a unit of time for Night. See Units of Time for details on creating new units of time.
Create Resources for Housing
Create a class 3 resource type for housing (usually called Housing). See Resource Types for details on creating a new resource type. Within this resource type, you need to create resources for each unique room type (or room size) available for housing, such as Double/Double Room, Queen/Queen Room, King Suite. See Resources for details on creating new resources.
The resources you create in this step are used to identify income and expenses related to each room type.
Create Room Types
Create a room type for each available unique room type (or room size). You must do this in addition to creating the resources in the step above. The room types you create in this step determine the rooms that are available when working with properties and online registration. See Room Types for details on creating new room types.
Create Property Accounts
Create a property account for each hotel or lodging provider. You can also create a note on the account using the note class you created in Create a Note Class for Property Information for additional property details and amenities. You also need to assign attributes and the room types available for the property. See Property Accounts for details on creating property accounts.
Update Tax and GL Distribution Schemes for Property Resources
When you assign room types to a property account, a class 2 resource type is created for each property with each room type as a resource with that resource type. You need to assign the application Tax and GL Distribution Schemes to these resources if needed. This is usually done for multiple resources at once using the Edit Multiple Resources tool.
