Units of time are created for all measurements of time used to order and bill for items such as days, nights, per event, per function, hours, minutes, and so on.

Add a Unit of Time
- Navigate to the Units of Time page and click Add. The Add Unit of Time window opens.
- Enter the following information:
- Description: Name of the unit of time.
- Calculation Method: Calculation for the unit of time. Depending on the value selected, the extended charges and costs for resources with that unit of time are calculated using the number of hours, days, weeks or nights in the resource's time span.
- Code: Unique alphanumeric value.
- Select the Booking Defaults tab. These defaults are only applicable if the booking usage is configured to use the booking defaults from the unit of time. Also see Booking Configuration for additional system settings between bookings and unit of time.
- Enter the following information:
- Default Booking Times: Start and end times to default when a booking is created.
- Maximum Booking Time Range: Start and end times for the earliest and latest you can create the booking. If you create a booking outside of the entered time range, you receive a message.
- Maximum Hours at Base Rate: Amount of hours the booking is charged at the standard rate. For example, if you enter 6, then bookings up to 6 hours are charged the standard rate.
- Additional Rate: Additional rate to use for the hours that extend beyond the Maximum Hours At Base Rate for a booking.
- Click OK.
Edit a Unit of Time
You can change the information for a unit of time after you have created it. When you change the information for a unit of time, it updates wherever the unit of time is used. This can have an impact on order calculations so proceed cautiously. If you don't want to update the already existing unit of time data, then you must add a new unit of time using the steps in Add a Unit of Time.
- Navigate to the Units of Time page and select the unit of time to edit.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Unit of Time window opens.
- Update the desired information.
- Click OK.
Delete a Unit of Time
If you no longer use a unit of time and don't want to keep a record of it, you can delete it. You cannot delete a unit of time if it is used. You cannot undo the delete process.
- Navigate to the Units of Time page and right-click on the unit of time to delete.
- Select Mark for Delete.
- Click Save.
