You can configure a price list to default into the Price List field for new events. You can configure a default price list:
- At the organization level for all new events.
- Based on the start and end dates assigned to the price list.
Organization Default Price List
You can configure a default price list for to use for all new events across your organization. To configure a default price list for your organization:
- Click the Price Lists link from the Main Menu. The Price Lists page opens.
- Select the price list to default into the Price List field for new events.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Price List window opens.
- Check the Org Default check box.
- Click OK.
Default Price List Based on Event Start Date
You can configure your price lists to be active during a particular time period by setting a start and end date. When you create an event from the Booking Calendar with a start date during the price list's active period, and the price list is the only active price list during that time period, it defaults into the Price List field for the event. The price list does not default based on the event start date when adding an event from the Events page.
To configure a price list to be active during a particular time period:
- Click the Price Lists link from the Main Menu. The Price Lists screen opens.
- Select the price list to default during a particular time period.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Price List screen opens.
- Enter the date the price list is active in the Start Date field and the date the price list becomes inactive in the End Date field.
- Click OK.
Default Hierarchy
If your organization is using more than one of the above configurations, then a hierarchy is used to determine which price list is defaulted. Enterprise first looks to see if there is an Organization Default Price List set. If not, it looks to see if the Event Start and End Dates are within a price list’s Start and End Date range, and if so, it defaults to that price list. If there are no price lists within the date range and no organization default price list, then no price list defaults for the event.

Hi Kris,
There are a few different ways you can default a price list for a service order. One is to assign the price list on the event. You can also use price classes that will default a price list based on a price class assigned to the bill-to account on the order. See the below article for more information on how to configure this:
https://supportcenter.ungerboeck.com/hc/en-us/articles/204567378-Configuring-and-Using-Price-Classes
You can also default a price list by role using the Allow Access to Price Lists in Events/Order Entry. By limiting what price lists a user has access to, if there is only one price list available for the order that the user is able to access, then it will default into the service order.
Thanks,
Maggie

I think the defaulting of an event price list based on dates is something that many customers want but the above is rarely effective.
1) An Org wide default price list is probably a little too restrictive in most cases to implement
2) There is always multiple price lists configured for a time period.
3) Not all events are created from the booking calendar (due to event profile restrictions)
If there can be an additional flag on the price lists to indicate Event Default with the ability to select one per date range, and have this used anytime an event is added then this would be much more effective. Additionally when an event is being copied, as well as having a price list selection for source and selected, have another for Event Default.
This would ensure almost all new events were automated to the correct price list as opposed to very few today.

Can we have this set up so that it works when copying events as well.
At the moment when we copy an event the default price list is the price list on the original event and I would like it to be the default price list for the target dates.
