Registration Form Templates: Registrant Types Group

You use the Registrant Types Group to configure the following for public-facing registration:

  • Order the registrant types display
  • How the remaining capacity displays
  • When to hide/show the registrant type section

To configure the Registrant Types Group for a registration form template:

  1. Click the Events link from the Main Menu. The Events screen opens.
  2. Select the event for the registration setup.
  3. Right-click and select Tools -> Registration Setup. The Registration Setup screen opens.
  4. Select the Registration Form Setup tab.
  5. Click the Edit Form Template hyperlink in the Appearance section. The Form Template screen opens.
  6. Select Registration Options under the Registrant Types Group heading.
  7. Click the Edit Component hyperlink in the Registration Options group on the right. The Edit Registrant Type Form Section screen opens.
  8. Enter the necessary information:
    • Heading - Text that displays as a header on the registrant type selection page. 
    • Caption - Text that displays below the header on the registrant type selection page. 
    • Sort By - Select the order to use for the registrant types:
      • Description - Displays the registrant types in alphabetic order.
      • Price-Ascending - Displays the registrant types based on their price from lowest to highest.
      • Price-Descending - Displays the registrant types based on their price from highest to lowest.
      • Sequence - Displays the registrant types based on the sequence value entered on the registrant type.
    • Show Capacity Remaining - If checked, the remaining capacity displays for the registrant type when it is equal to or less than the value entered into the Remaining capacity quantity field.
    • Hide Section for Registrant Type - If there is only one registrant type, you can choose to hide the registrant type selection section. Select to hide it if the registrant type has no charges and/or has charges.
  9. Click OK.

    Hi, I know the functionality about the setup but I am looking for a way to group the registrants. Is it possible? Example Group 1 - ABC University Full Registration Student Registration Group2 - XYZ University Full Registration Student Registration Is there a possibility of modifying the form template and using your customize form for the event?

    Hi Carrie, We have two scenarios and that's how we would like to track the money at the backend. This is for general public who would be looking at the registration form when registration opens. We are giving an opportunity to register by categorizing them - as per above example. I am looking for a similar functionality like how we group the sessions under form template for the registrant types. Right now, we can only SORT BY - Description, Price Ascending and Price Descending. Is there a way to customize this and group it. Cheers

    Himanshu - Unfortunately grouping for registrant types is not available at this point (only basic sorting). If you'd like to see that functionality, please submit an enhancement request. Thank you, Carrie

    Himanshu, have your tried using registrant type dependent functions and/or function grouping? I think this will allow your users to see only their options in a group type selection. Because we branch functions and custom fields based on registrant type, this will help public facing users to select only the items available for them. They can also see the other options for the other group if they prefer.
