Event functions can be assigned an account and contact, just like an event, service order, or space. The purpose of assigning an account and contact to a function is to make that account and contact default as the order account and contact for any service orders that are subsequently added to that function. This provides for streamlining the order processing of an event for which orders are placed from multiple accounts.
In order to assign an account or contact to a function, follow these below steps:
- Click the Events button from the Global Navigation Bar. The Events screen opens.
- Select the event which contains the function that needs the account and contact assigned.
- Select the Functions tab on the right side of the screen.
- Select the function to be assigned the account and contact.
- Right-click and select Edit -> Edit. The Edit Function screen opens.
- Select the account from the Account drop-down.
- Select the contact from the Contact drop-down.
- Click OK.
When the function is selected for a service order, the order account and contact default to the account and contact assigned to the function.
Script from Event
The Script from Event tool allows you to copy functions from one event (the Source Event) to another (the Destination Event).
When using the Script from Event tool, the handling of function account and contact information for the copied function(s) is determined by the Source Event.
The following behavior is expected when using Script from Event. The behavior is per copied function.
If... | Then... |
---|---|
The function account/contact in the Source Event is the same as the event account/contact of the Source Event... | The function account/contact on the new function updates to match the event account/contact of the Destination Event. |
The function account/contact in the Source Event is different than the event account/contact of the Source Event... | The new function retains the function account/contact values from the Source Event. |

Does it mean that the SO will be automatically sent to i.e. a caterer?

Hi Magdalena,
Nothing will be sent automatically based on the function account/contact. If you have a process in place for notifying the service order account/contact of the service order (this would probably be via webhooks), then that will continue when you add service orders to the function.
Otherwise, if the supplier/user has access to the database, views can be set up to filter based on account/contact on the functions and/or service orders windows.
