You can use space features to designate special accommodations a space may have and to set the space capacity. You can use space features with the Availability Search and Booking Calendar to locate spaces with specific features that match a customer's needs. Some examples of space features include handicap accessible, sound system, overall capacity and ceiling height.
Add a Space Feature
- Click the Space Features link from the Main Menu. The Space Features screen opens.
- Click the Add button. The Add Space Feature screen opens.
- Enter the necessary information:
- Description - Name of the space feature.
- Code - Unique alphanumeric code.
- Minimum - Minimum value or capacity for the space feature, if applicable.
- Maximum - Maximum value or capacity for the space feature, if applicable.
- U/M - Unit of measure for the capacity for the space feature.
- Click OK.
Change a Space Feature
You can change the information for a space feature after you have created it. When you change the information for a space feature, it updates wherever the space feature is used. If you don't want to update the already existing space feature data, then you must add a new space feature using the steps in Add a Space Feature.
- Click the Space Features link from the Main Menu. The Space Features screen opens.
- Select the space feature to edit.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Space Feature screen opens.
- Update the desired information.
- Click OK.
Delete a Space Feature
If you no longer use a space feature and don't want to keep a record of it, you can delete it. If a space feature is assigned to spaces, you receive a warning before the delete process begins. You cannot undo the delete process.
- Click the Space Features link from the Main Menu. The Space Features screen opens.
- Right-click on the space feature to delete.
- Select Mark for Delete.
- Click the Save button.
Assign a Space Feature to a Space
To assign a space feature to a space:
- Click the Spaces link from the Main Menu. The Spaces screen opens.
- Select the space for the space feature.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Space screen opens.
- Select the Features tab.
- Click the Manage button. The Select Features screen opens.
- Select the feature(s) for the space from the Available section of the screen. Use Ctrl+Click or Shift+Click to select multiple features.
- Click the single right arrow button to move the selected feature(s) to the Selected section of the screen.
- Click Save.
- Show the Minimum Quantity and Maximum Quantity columns. See Column Settings for information on showing columns. are displayed. The Minimum Quantity and Maximum Quantity values default to the values assigned to the feature.
- If necessary, update the minimum capacity for the feature in the Minimum Quantity field and the maximum capacity for the feature in the Maximum Quantity field.
- Click OK.

In the list of specifications when using the iEMBS venue booking, I've noticed that for most spaces, features that aren't selected for that space are greyed out. But, for a couple spaces, features that are not selected are not shown at all (instead of being shown but greyed out)--how can I fix that discrepancy?

Thank your for reaching out. It appears that these are greyed out because there is no value assigned to them .
From the spaces window, you would want to assign the features to the space for them to appear.

Sorry, I think I was unclear--I was confused why they are greyed out for the 1st space in the above image but not visible at all for the 2nd space (instead of also being greyed out).
But, I've discovered the reason. If one or more features are selected for a space, the ones not selected are greyed out. If no features are selected for a space, the ones not selected are completely excluded (rather than being greyed out).

Bonnie - the space features can be numeric or binary (yes/no) so your options would be to either list the total area of the stage, or do two separate features: stage length and stage width. Thanks.

Hello,
We are using features to show clients what AV items are preset in our spaces. We would like to be able to list these features on their auto confirmation emails sent by OSB. When editing an email I can't find the features on the "insert Field" option for features. Is it called something else? Is there another way I can get the features to list in an email template?
