Both the exhibitor status and exhibitor categories are helpful in providing the correct forms, tasks and questions in the Exhibitor Portal since all tasks and sections can change based on an exhibitor's status, category, date, or type.
Exhibitor Statuses
Exhibitor statuses are used to track where an exhibitor is in your company’s sales process. Examples of exhibitors status include Lead, Qualified Lead, Contract Sent, Deposit Received, Contract Signed with Pmt, Proposal Sent, Proposal Reviewed by Exhibitor, Selecting Booth in Portal, Booth Assigned, Active and Paid in Full, Closed and Cancelled.
The exhibitor status changes when your salespeople updates it as part of their process. Some software processes can automatically change the status for you. For example, when having exhibitors complete tasks in the Exhibitor Portal or when using the automatic updating of exhibitor status from the update of a booth order status.
Exhibitor Categories
Exhibitor categories are used to designate what kind of exhibitor it is and help to group your exhibitors together. These usually do not change for an event. Examples of exhibitor categories include New, First Time, Renewal, Sponsor, VIP, etc.
You can assign multiple exhibitor categories to exhibitors. You can also create tasks in the Exhibitor Portal to allow exhibitors to add exhibitor categories to themselves.
