You can update multiple service orders at one time and you can update multiple service order items at one time.
Edit Multiple Service Orders
You can update the information for multiple open service orders, such as status, date, department, category, GL account and account rep, at one time using Edit Multiple Service Orders. If all the service orders you are updating have the same user defined fields (UDFs) assigned, you can also update the user defined fields on multiple orders using this same screen. You cannot edit closed or cancelled service orders.
To edit multiple service orders at one time:
- Click the Service Orders link from the Main Menu. The Service Orders screen opens.
- Select the service orders to edit. Use Ctrl+Click or Shift+Click to select multiple orders. To edit all the service orders on the screen, click the left most column to select all the displayed service orders.
- Right-click and select Edit -> Edit Multiple. The Edit Multiple Service Orders screen opens.
- Check the check box next to the field(s) to edit.
- Select the new value(s) from the drop-down. Only checked fields are updated. If no value is selected in a drop-down and the check box is checked, the field is updated on all orders to blank.
- Click OK.
Edit Multiple Service Order Items
You can update the information for an open service order item, such as start and end date and time and lead hours, for multiple service order items at one time using Edit Multiple Service Order Items. You cannot edit:
- Closed or cancelled service order items
- Automatic tax items
- Booking dates and times
You can edit the order item user defined fields for multiple items if the:
- Selected items have the same user defined field type.
- UDF columns are on the Edit Multiple Service Order Items screen layout instead of the UDF section.
If you edit an item that does not have a user defined field record, the software adds a new record if you update it using Edit Multiple.
To edit multiple service order items at one time:
- Click the Service Orders Items link from the Main Menu. The Service Orders screen opens.
- Select the service order items to edit. Use Ctrl+Click or Shift+Click to select multiple items. To edit all the service orders items on the screen, click the left most column to select all the displayed service order items.
- Right-click and select Edit Multiple. The Edit Multiple Service Order Items screen opens.
- Check the check box next to the field(s) to edit.
- Select the new value(s) from the drop-down. Only checked fields are updated. If no value is selected in a drop-down and the check box is checked, the field is updated on all items to blank.
- Click OK.
Edit Multiple Service Order Security
Editing multiple service order and service order items is controlled by the Allow Editing of Multiple Service Orders and Items access privilege. Roles/users assigned to the privilege can edit multiple service orders and items. Roles/users not assigned to the privilege cannot edit multiple service orders and order items and do not see the Edit Multiple menu option. If no roles/users are assigned to the privilege, it is considered inactive and no roles/users can edit multiple service orders and order items.

When editing multiple Service Order items, we don't have the option to edit the Order Units, is there a reason for this or shall I add this as an enhancement request?

Hi Rachel,
I don't have the exact reason so feel free to enter an enhancement request but the request sounds like it would be pretty tricky when it comes to all the various ways order items can be configured (upsells, min/max, etc.).
If you would like to submit an enhancement request, we could have our product team take a look at it for you and see what it would take to get it accomplished.
Thanks!
Matt
