Preference types are the communications or data storage options your customers can choose to consent or not consent to. To add, edit or delete preference types, you must have access to the Allow Edit of Preference Types access privilege.
The software comes with three pre-defined preference type options that you cannot delete:
- Allow Sending of Confirmations
- Allow Sending of Notifications
- Allow Storing of Data
You can also create your own preference types if there are other permissions you need to receive from your customers. To create a new preference type:
- Click the Preference Types link from the Main Menu. The Preference Types page opens.
- Click the Add button. The Add Preference Types window opens.
- Enter a description for the Preference Type into the Description field.
- Enter additional information if necessary:
- Summary – Short explanation of what your customer is consenting to. This displays on the online public-facing pages so your customers understand what is included in their consent.
- Instructions – Details for your internal staff to view what the preference type includes. This only displays to licensed users and does not display online or to your customers.
- Sort – Controls the order the preference types display online. Additional preference types are sorted using this value after the three pre-defined preference types. It is recommended to use a two- digit numerical value such as 10, 20, 30 with the options sorting from least to greatest.
- Active – If checked, the preference type is active and available for selection for online and back office use.
- Click OK.
After you set up your preference types, you can add them to your contacts in Ungerboeck using the Preference Settings tab on the contact. Make sure you configure your access privileges so only certain users within your organization have access to add, edit and delete a contact's preference settings. Hi we currently use a software called vision 6 to manage people's consent to receive newsletter. Now that preference type functionality is available, we want to start managing people's consent in Ungerboeck.
However, it is not possible to highlight multiple accounts and change the consent on bulk. Is it possible to have this functionality?

This currently isn't a feature in the software & not on our road map at this time.
