If you have multiple registration configurations set up on your event and want registrants to only use a specific configuration based on their registrant type, you can use Universal Logon and Registrant Type Validation. With Universal Logon, you can send one URL to all potential registrants no matter how many configurations are set up on the event.
Configuration Types
The software uses the configuration type sort sequence to determine the order for which registration configuration to use. The software goes from the highest sort sequence to the lowest sort sequence. To set a sort sequence on a configuration type:
- Click the Configuration Types link from the Main Menu. The Configuration Types page opens.
- Select the configuration to update.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Configuration Type window opens.
- Enter the desired value into the User Sort Sequence field.
- Click OK.
Validate Registrants
To place a registrant in the correct configuration, you must use registrant type validation. To set up registrant type validation:
- Click the Events link from the Main Menu. The Events page opens.
- Select the event with the registration setup.
- Right-click and select Tools -> Registration -> Registration Setup. The Edit Registration Setup window opens.
- Select the Pricing tab.
- Expand the Registrant Type section.
- Select the registrant type for validation.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Event Registrant Type window opens.
- Select the Validation tab.
- Select the appropriate validation options.
- Click OK.
If a registrant does not match any available registrant types, or if the registrant is signing up and not logging in, the registrant is directed to the default configuration that is available for all registration setups. This configuration is noted by a blank configuration type.
Copy the Universal Logon
After you set up the registration configurations for your event and you have set up your registrant type validation, you can use Universal Logon. To copy the Universal Logon URL to send to registrants:
- Click the Events link from the Main Menu. The Events page opens.
- Select the event with the registration setup.
- Right-click and select Tools -> Registration -> Registration Setup. The Edit Registration Setup window opens.
- Click the Tools button at the top of the screen.
- Select Copy Universal Logon. This copies the URL to your clipboard. You can now send this URL out to all registrants and the correct configuration is used based on the registrant type validation and configuration type sort sequence.
