Registrants can check themselves into events and/or functions using a desktop or kiosk at your event.
Configure Self Registration Check-In
You configure self check-in within the software via the back office. See the Registration Check-In (RCI) article for configuration details.
Once configuration is complete, you need to copy the appropriate URL to use with the desktop or kiosk.
- From the Edit Registration Check-In Configuration, click the Tools button.
- Select Copy Desktop Shortcut to copy the URL for a desktop or Copy Kiosk Shortcut to copy the URL for a kiosk.
- Click Allow if prompted to allow changes.
If you or your attendees are printing badges to a Zebra printer during registration check-in, you also need to make the below configure updates for any browser(s) you use for check-in:
- Chrome
- In Registration Check-In (RCI), click Print Badge or Check-In and Print Badge. The Print Setup screen opens.
- Select the following:
- Layout - Portrait
- Paper Size - Undefined
- Margins - None
- Click the Print button.
- Firefox
- Hold the Alt key on your keyboard. A menu bar displays at the top of the screen.
- Select File -> Page Setup. The Page Setup screen opens.
- Select the following:
- Orientation - Portrait
- Check the Shrink to fit Page Width check box
- Select the Margins & Header/Footer tab.
- Enter the following:
- 0 in all margin fields
- Select blank in all Header and Footer drop-downs
- Click OK. Proceed with the badge print process within Registration Check-In (RCI).
- Internet Explorer
- Click the Settings (Gear) icon.
- Select Print.
- Select Page Setup. The Page Setup screen opens.
- Enter the following:
- Select User defined in the Paper Size drop-down
- Select Portrait
- 0 in all margin fields
- Select empty in all Header and Footer drop-downs
- Click OK. Proceed with the badge print process within Registration Check-In (RCI)
- Edge
- In Registration Check-In (RCI), click Print Badge or Check-In and Print Badge. The Print screen opens.
- Enter the following:
- Select Portrait.
- Expand the More Settings menu.
- Select User defined in the Paper Size dropdown.
- Select None in the Margins field.
- Uncheck the Headers and footers and Background graphics options.
- Click Print
Using Self Check-In
On the desktop computer or kiosk being used for self check-in, open Google Chrome and paste the URL copied from the software. A screen displays with the event or if there are multiple events available, the list of events for the registrant to select. Click or tap the event to check into.
Event Check-In
If only event check-in is available, a screen displays with the search options registrants can use to locate themselves. If function check-in is also available, a screen displays for the registrant to select to check-in to the event or function. For event check-in, select Event.
Select the preferred search option based on what is configured in Registration Check-In:
- Scan - Use the barcode scanner to scan the barcode provided in the registration configuration.
- Swipe - Use a credit card reader to swipe the credit card used as the payment on the registration order for the registrant.
- Type - Use the keyboard or onscreen keyboard to locate the registrant using First Name, Last Name, Company Name, Confirmation Code (order number) and/or Email Address.
When the registrant is found, select Yes to confirm. The Check-In screen displays.
To check-in, the registrant can select the Check In button. Depending on the Registration Check-In configuration, the registrant may also have the following buttons available:
- Check-in and print your badge - Checks the registrant in and print the badge.
- Print Badge - Prints the registrant's badge.
- View other attendees on your order - Displays a list of registrants on the same order as the registrant who is checking in. The registrant checking in can also check-in other registrants on the order.
Function Check-In
For function check-in, select Function. A list of available functions display. Functions must have end dates and times after the current date and time to display in the list.
Select the function for check-in and follow the same process as above.
Administrator Mode
Administrators can check-in registrants and print badges en masse by using Admin mode. Additional filtering options for Checked-In and No Shows are also available when viewing all results for an event or function.
Troubleshooting
Attendee Not Found in Function Check-In
Check the Allow Registrants to Check-In to Any Function check box for the Registration Check-In Configuration (Main Menu -> Registration Check-In Configuration -> Select configuration -> Right-click -> Edit). If it is unchecked, the registrant must be registered for the function to be available for check-in.
