You can check-in registrants using the RCI iOS mobile app available in Apple's App Store. See below for how to configure and use mobile Registration Check-In (RCI).
Configure Mobile Registration Check-In (RCI)
You configure the app within the Ungerboeck back office. Only configurations where the user is assigned as an administrator are available to the user. If there is more than one valid configuration available, the app prompts the user after logging to select the configuration to use.
See the Registration Check-In (RCI) article for configuration details.
Install the App
You must install the RCI app on any device you are using for check-in.
- Open the App Store on the device.
- Search for Ungerboeck Check-In.
- Download and install the app.
License the App
The RCI app is free to download and install but a license is required for use. Licenses are provided to you by Ungerboeck.
Ungerboeck recommends not installing the app on personal devices as all license codes are active until Ungerboeck is notified to terminate a license code.
If you have purchased Registration Check-In (RCI) and need RCI license codes, submit a ticket to our Client Care Team and they can provide you with valid license codes.
Once you have your license code(s), enter the license code when prompted when opening the app. Each device requires its own unique license code and are single use.
Sign In to the App
The first time you use the Registration Check-In app, it must be on a Wifi network. After logging in the first time, this is no longer required.
- Open the app on your device.
- Enter your database URL.
- Enter the email address associated with your Ungerboeck user.
- Enter your Ungerboeck password.
- Click Sign In.
Using the App
Once you have logged in and, if needed, selected the desired configuration, the user can check registrants into the event or into a function.
Event Check-In
The app displays the current number of registrants checked into the event out of the total number of registrants. To check-in an registrant, tap the Search (magnifying glass) image or Scan (QR code) image.
Search
After tapping the Search image, a list of registrants for the event displays. Registrants with a balance due display a yellow exclamation point (!). Registrants who are checked in display a green check mark. Registrants who have not been approved display a red X.
You can either scroll to select a registrant or tap the magnifying glass in the upper left of the screen to search for a particular registrant. To check-in a registrant, tap their name and click the Check In button. A page opens to verify the registrant's details. Click the Check In button to confirm the check-in for the event. A confirmation screen displays and you can either Undo the check-in or return to the registrant list.
Scan
To scan a QR code for check-in, tap the Scan (QR code) image. The app activates the device's camera in Scan mode. Position the QR code in the scan area. A successful scan returns the registrant information. Click the Check In button to confirm the check-in for the event. You return to scan mode after confirming the check-in.
Function Check-In
Tap Functions at the bottom of the event screen to check registrants into a function. A list of available functions for check-in displays. Functions must have end dates and times after the current date and time to display in the list.
Select the function to check the registrant into. Like Event Check-In, a screen displays with the current number of registrants checked into the function. To check-in a registrant, tap the Search (magnifying glass) image or Scan (QR code) image. If the Allow Registrants to Check-In to Any Function check box is not checked in the Registration Check-In Configuration (see step 5 in the Configure Mobile Registration Check-In (RCI) section), only registrants registered for the function are available for check-in.
Troubleshooting
App Hangs, Crashes or Has Connection Problems
Try toggling the device's Airplane Mode on and off. If that does not work, follow Apple's guide for restarting your device.
App Hangs During Login
Check that the device is connected to internet.
Attendee Not Found in Function Check-In
Check the Allow Registrants to Check-In to Any Function check box for the Registration Check-In Configuration (Main Menu -> Registration Check-In Configuration -> Select configuration -> Right-click -> Edit). If it is unchecked, the registrant must be registered for the function to be available for check-in.
