Session Proposal Evaluations

To add a session proposal evaluation to a submission in the software, you must first assign the evaluator to the submission. You can do this online in the Session Proposal site or in the software. Once you assign the evaluator, you can add an evaluation in the software on behalf of the evaluator.

To add an evaluation in the software:

  1. Click the Session Proposal Evaluations link from the Main Menu. The Session Proposal Evaluations page opens.
  2. Select the submission to evaluate. Make sure you select the submission that is assigned to the evaluator you are submitting the evaluation for.
  3. Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Session Proposal Evaluations window opens.
  4. Enter the necessary information:
    • Skip - If checked, the evaluation was skipped. 
    • Complete - Check the check box once the evaluation is complete. If the submission is evaluated in the online Session Proposal site, the check box is automatically checked upon submission of the evaluation.
    • Note - This is the same as the Remarks field in the online Session Proposals site. It is used by the evaluator to add their remarks to the evaluation.
  5. Select the Evaluation Scoring tab. The tab lists the session proposal criteria and the responses to the criteria. If the submission has no evaluations, it is blank. 
  6. Click the Add button. The Add Session Proposal Evaluation Criteria Responses window opens.
  7. Enter the necessary information:
    • Evaluation Criteria - Criteria the submission is being scored on. Only criterion not already selected for the submission are available in the drop-down. Each evaluator can add a criterion once per evaluation.
    • Evaluation Response - Response to the selected criterion.
  8. Select the User Defined Fields tab if necessary.
  9. Complete any necessary UDF's.
  10. Confirm the Complete check box is checked. See step 4.
  11. Confirm any remarks are entered into the Note field. See step 4.
  12. Click OK.

    hi, can a submission with the status "in progress" be evaluated? or will only submissions with the status "submitted" appear in the evaluator screen.

    Hi Maryann,

    Submissions with the status of "In Progress" cannot be evaluated. Think of this status as a saved draft. It will not be able to be evaluated until it has been submitted by the submitter account and changed to any status in the "Submitted" status group.
