You can use property groups to classify the different types of available properties. See the Housing Overview for more information about configuring housing.
Add a Property Group
- Click the Property Groups link from the Main Menu. The Property Groups page opens.
- Click the Add button. The Add Property Group window opens.
- Enter the following information:
- Description - Name of the property group.
- Abbreviated Description - Shortened description of the property group.
- Code - Unique alphanumeric code.
- Click OK.
Change a Property Group
You can change the information for a property group after you have created it. When you change the information for a property group, it updates wherever the property group is used. If you don't want to update the already existing property group data, then you must add a new property group using the steps in Add a Property Group.
- Click the Property Groups link from the Main Menu. The Property Groups page opens.
- Select the property group to edit.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Property Group window opens.
- Update the information.
- Click OK.
Inactivate a Property Group
If you no longer use a property group but want to keep record of it for reporting or other purposes, you can make it inactive. When you make a property group inactive, it is no longer available for selection.
- Click the Property Groups link from the Main Menu. The Property Groups page opens.
- Select the property group to make inactive.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Property Group window opens.
- Check the Retire box.
- Click OK.
Delete a Property Group
If you no longer use a property group and don't want to keep a record of it, you can delete it. You cannot undo the delete process.
- Click the Property Groups link from the Main Menu. The Property Groups page opens.
- Right-click on the property group to delete.
- Select Mark for Delete.
- Click OK.
