Membership statuses indicate where a membership is in the overall process. There are two levels to membership statuses: membership status group and the membership status. You must assign every membership status to a membership status group.
The membership status group is maintained by Ungerboeck and allows you to group together membership statuses. An example of membership statuses with membership status groups:
- Active (Group)
- New (Status)
- Renewed (Status)
- Inactive (Group)
- Unable to Contact (Status)
- Cancelled (Status)
- Prospective (Group)
- Interest (Status)
- Waitlist (Group)
- Waiting List (Status)
- Overdue (Group)
- Pending Renewal (Status)
Add a Membership Status
- Click the Membership Statuses link from the Main Menu. The Membership Statuses screen opens.
- Click the Add button. The Add Membership Status screen opens.
- Enter the necessary information:
- Description - Name of the membership status.
- Status Group - Group assigned to the membership status.
- Text Color - Text color when the status displays in drop-downs and screens throughout Ungerboeck.
- Background Color - Background color when the status displays in drop-downs and screens throughout Ungerboeck.
- Click OK.
Change a Membership Status
You can change all the information for a membership status. When you change the information for a membership status, it updates wherever the membership status is used. If you don't want to update the already existing status data, then you must add a new status using the steps in Add a Membership Status.
- Click the Membership Statuses link from the Main Menu. The Membership Statuses screen opens.
- Select the status to edit.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Membership Status screen opens.
- Make the desired change.
- Click OK.
Inactivate a Membership Status
If you no longer use a membership status but want to keep record of it for reporting or other purposes, you can make it inactive. When you make a membership status inactive, it is no longer available for selection on memberships or membership types.
- Click the Membership Statuses link from the Main Menu. The Membership Statuses screen opens.
- Select the status to make inactive.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Membership Status screen opens.
- Uncheck the Active check box.
- Click OK.
Delete a Membership Status
If you no longer use a status and don't want to keep a record of it, you can delete it. When you delete a status that is used, you receive a prompt to select a status to replace the status you are deleting. You cannot undo the delete or delete and replace process.
- Click the Membership Statuses link from the Main Menu. The Membership Statuses screen opens.
- Right-click on the status to delete.
- Select Mark for Delete.
- Click the Save button. If the status is used, the Replace screen opens.
- Select the status from the drop-down to replace the deleted status.
- Click OK.
