Membership was rewritten in v30.97 to use a new process. For continuity purposes, the previous Membership functionality remains available but is referred to as Legacy Membership. In v30.97 and later, membership functionality is referred to as Membership.
You use membership categories to segment your memberships for reporting purposes. For example, you may offer a Zoo Membership and a Club Membership.
Add a Membership Category
- Click the Membership Categories link from the Main Menu. The Membership Categories screen opens.
- Click the Add button. The Add Membership Category screen opens.
- Enter the name of the membership category into the Description field.
- Check the Active check box.
- Click OK.
Change a Membership Category
You can change the description for a membership category after you have created it. When you change the description of a membership category, it updates wherever the membership category is used. If you don't want to update the already existing membership category data, then you must add a new membership category using the steps in Add a Membership Category.
- Click the Membership Categories link from the Main Menu. The Membership Categories screen opens.
- Select the membership category to edit.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Membership Category screen opens.
- Update the description.
- Click OK.
Inactivate a Membership Category
If you no longer use a membership category but want to keep record of it for reporting or other purposes, you can make it inactive. When you make a membership category inactive, it is no longer available for selection for membership types. If it is assigned to a membership type, it is removed from the membership type.
- Click the Membership Categories link from the Main Menu. The Membership Categories screen opens.
- Select the membership category to make inactive.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Membership Category screen opens.
- Uncheck the Active check box.
- Click OK.
Delete a Membership Category
If you no longer use a membership category and don't want to keep a record of it, you can delete it. When you delete a membership category that is used, you receive a prompt to select a membership category to replace the membership category you are deleting. You cannot undo the delete or delete and replace process.
- Click the Membership Categories link from the Main Menu. The Membership Categories screen opens.
- Right-click on the membership category to delete.
- Select Mark for Delete.
- Click the Save button. If the membership category is used, the Replace screen opens.
- Select the membership category from the drop-down to replace the deleted membership category.
- Click OK.
