Membership was rewritten in v30.97 to use a new process. For continuity purposes,
the previous Membership functionality remains available but is referred to as
Legacy Membership. In v30.97 and later, membership functionality is referred
to as Membership.
You can add an individual membership to a member or a group membership to a member.
An individual membership includes only a single member. For example, a sports club may offer Gold, Silver, and Bronze memberships that an individual can purchase. Group memberships include multiple members. When you create a group membership, you add it to one of the members in the group and then add additional members to it. For example, you may offer a baseball camp that offers training to teams. With a group membership, you can add each member of the team to the team (group) membership.
Individual Memberships
To add a new individual membership to a member:
- Click the Contacts - Membership link from the Main Menu. The Member Contacts page opens.
- Select the member for the membership.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Contact window opens.
- Select the Memberships tab.
- Click the Add button. A drop-down displays.
- Select Add Individual Membership. The Add Individual Membership window opens.
- Enter the necessary information:
- Order Account - Account for the membership order that is created for the membership.
- Order Contact - Contact for the order account for the membership order that is created for the membership.
- Membership Type - Type of membership you are adding.
- Period - Membership period for the membership.
- Installment - Membership installment for the membership.
- If joining after start date, apply - How to charge for the membership if it is added after the period starts and if the membership period is a fixed-date period:
- Prorate Charges - Charges are prorated based on the month joined. For example, if membership period is a year and begins on January 1 and the membership is added in March, the charges are adjusted to reflect a 10 month membership instead of 12 months.
- Charge evenly across remaining installments - Charges for previous months in the period are spread evenly across the remaining installments in the period.
- Charge full amount to first installment - Charges for the previous months in the period are charged with the first month. The remaining months are charged the normal rate for the installment.
- Bill-To-Account - Bill-to account for the membership order that is created for the membership.
- Bill-To-Contact - Bill-to contact for the membership orders that is created for the membership.
- Membership Start Date - Date to begin the membership.
- Billing Date - Date to bill the membership.
- First Installment Status - Status for the the first membership order in the installment.
- Order Status - Status of the membership orders after the first installment.
- Membership Status - Status of the membership.
- Select the Membership Items tab. Membership items default based on the selected Membership Type and Period. You can add additional items to the membership. Adding additional items to the membership only adds them for this member; it does not add them to all members with the same member type or period. To add additional membership items:
- Click the Add Member Items button. The Add Membership Items window opens.
- Select the items to add to the membership.
- Click the Select button. when adding a membership.
- Click OK. The membership saves and the membership orders are created based on the installment selected. You can view the orders on the Membership Orders tab.
Group Memberships
To add a new group membership to a member:
- Click the Contacts - Membership link from the Main Menu. The Member Contacts page opens.
- Select the member for the membership.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Contact window opens.
- Select the Memberships tab.
- Click the Add button. A drop-down displays.
- Select Add Group Membership. The Add Group Membership window opens.
- Enter the necessary information:
- Group Description - Name for the group membership.
- Order Account - Account for the membership order that is created for the membership.
- Order Contact - Contact for the order account for the membership order that is created for the membership.
- Membership Type - Type of membership you are adding.
- Period - Membership period for the membership.
- Installment - Membership installment for the membership.

- Select the Members tab. These are the members who are part of the group membership. To add a member to the membership:
- Click the Add button.
- To add a member that already exists:
- Select Add Existing Contact. The Add Member window opens.
- Select the member from the Member Account field.
- Click OK.
- To add a new member:
- Select Add New Contact. The Add Contact window opens.
- Enter the information for the member.
- Click OK.
- Select the Membership Items tab. Membership items default based on the selected Membership Type and Period. You can add additional items to the membership. Adding additional items to the membership only adds them for this group membership; it does not add them to all group memberships with the same member type or period. To add additional membership items:
- Click the Add Member Items button. The Add Membership Items window opens.
- Select the items to add to the membership.
- Click the Select button. when adding a membership.
- Click OK. The membership saves and the membership orders are created based on the installment selected. You can view the orders on the Membership Orders tab.
