Room diagrams are the room layouts specific to an event. Room diagrams use the space diagrams and room layouts you created for the space as a template which you can then adjust to an events' needs. For example, you may use the banquet room layout and then remove some banquet tables and add buffet stations.
To add a room diagram to an event:
- Click the Events link from the Main Menu. The Events screen opens.
- Select the event for the room diagram.
- Right-click and select Edit -> Edit. The Edit Event window opens.
- Select the Room Diagrams tab. If the tab does not appear, you must add it to the layout.
- Click Add. The Add Room Diagram window opens.

Enter the necessary information:
- Room Diagram Description - Name for the room diagram.
- Diagram Status - Active status of the diagram.
- Locked - Indicates if a diagram is locked so others cannot make changes (Only admins can lock and unlock diagrams).
- Space - Space for the room diagram. This is what determines what empty space diagram or room layouts are used.
- Space Layout - Room layout to use for the space. If no room layout is selected, the empty space diagram for the space is used.
- Diagram is Linked to These Functions - Function(s) the diagram applies to. You can view function diagrams directly from the function.
- Default Function for Creating Orders - Function to assign to orders when created.
- Default Price list for Creating Orders - Price list to assign to orders when created.
- Units - Measurement value used for the room diagram.
- Click the Create Diagram and Begin Editing link. The window updates to Room Diagram | [Diagram Name] and the diagram items and editing tools are available for selection.
- Make necessary updates to the room diagram.
- Click OK.
Room Diagram Editing Tools
Room diagramming provides many tools for making changes to your room diagram. The ribbon at the top of the Room Diagram window has three (3) sections: Home, Drawing, and Display.
Home
- Select - Default selection tool to select diagram items.
- Pan - Move the diagram left, right, up, or down.
- Undo - Undo change.
- Redo - Redo change.
- Out - Zoom out the entire diagram.
- Reset - Resets the view to the default zoom level.
- In - Zoom in on the entire diagram.
- Snap Enabled - Turns on and off snapping.
- Measure - Provides the distance between two points, and is saved in the diagram.
Drawing
- Group - Selects multiple diagram items and places them together.
- Ungroup - Deselects the diagram items.
- Insert - Draws the selected shape, line or text box.
- Duplicate - Copies the selected diagram item.
- Move - Moves the selected diagram item in the specified direction.
Display
- Show Labels - Display table numbers.
- Show Layers - Opens a screen with all layers for the diagram.
- Show Grid - Turns on and off a grid that overlays the diagram.
- Reset Grid - Resets the grid to a selected point on the diagram.
- Grid Settings - Determines grid size and snapping settings.
