Upsell items are used to either automatically add items to an order or to suggest additional items you may want to add to an order based on the item that is ordered. For example, you may have a suggested upsell for chair covers when someone orders chairs. Or you may have an automatic upsell for certain audio visual cords when someone orders a specific projector.
Before you can assign an item as an upsell item, you need to create a resource for that item and add it to the appropriate price list. After you have done that, you can assign the upsell items to the items.
- Navigate to the Price Lists page and select the price list with the item you want to assign an upsell item.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Price List window opens.
- Select the Price List Items tab.
- Select the item to assign an upsell item.
- Right-click and select Edit > Edit. The Edit Price List Item window opens.
- Select the Upsell tab.
- Click Add. The Add Price List Upsell Item window opens.
-
Enter the necessary information:
-
Upsell Type: Determines if the upsell item is automatic, required or suggested.
- Automatic: The upsell item is automatically added to the order whenever the price list item is ordered.
- Suggested: When the price list item is ordered, a prompt displays to the user entering the order with the upsell items. The user can choose an upsell item to add to the order or the user can close the prompt without adding an upsell item to the order.
- Required: When the price list item is ordered, a prompt displays to the user entering the order with the upsell items. The user must choose an upsell item to add to the order. The user cannot close the prompt without selecting an upsell item.
- Add-On: When the price list item is ordered, a prompt displays inviting the user to add the item on to their order, such as a protein add-on upsell (steak, chicken, tofu, or shrimp) when ordering a Caesar salad. These items can be ordered in any quantity or in any combination with another similar upsell type. Add-ons can not be ordered individually within public applications.
- Upsell Item: Item to add to the order.
- Resource Units: Number of units to add to the order. The units are multiplied by the entered quantity of the original item. Using the chair and chair cover example, if you enter 1 into the Resource Units and order 24 chairs, then the chair cover units is set to 24. This is not an option for the Add-On.
- Sort Sequence: Determines the order upsells display in the Exhibitor Service Center, and determines the order the upsell items are added to service orders if using automatic upsells.
- Tiered Units Scheme: Unit scheme to use for the upsell item.
-
Upsell Type: Determines if the upsell item is automatic, required or suggested.
- Click OK.
- Repeat steps 8 - 10 for each upsell item you want available for the price list item.
