Reassigning Discount Resources

Discount resources are assigned to a resource type and inherited by all resource items created for the resource type. It is not possible to assign or reassign a discount resource to a specific resource item.

When changing the discount resource currently configured on a resource type, it is important to recognize that ALL resource items configured for the resource type will be updated. If only a subset of items need a new discount resource assigned, then those items must be recreated or moved to a different resource type with the correct discount resource. You can move specific resource items to a different resource type by utilizing the Replace Resource tool.

Follow the steps below to reassign the discount resource for a resource type.

1. Click the Resources link from the Main Menu. The Resources page opens.
2. Locate and select the resource type that needs the discount resource assigned.
   Remember: You can only assign discount resources at the resource type level.
3. Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Resource window opens.
4. Locate the Discount/Surcharge Resource field. This field is typically located on the Additional Information tab in the Discounts/Surcharges section.
5. Update the Discount/Surcharge Resource field to reflect the new discount resource.
6. Click OK.
