When creating or editing Template Web Skins and Custom Web Skins, you have the option to upload a custom HTML section file. This option allows you to upload an HTML file that becomes the base template for your online application pages.
When creating a custom HTML section, include the <!--CENTERPAGE--> tag where you want the form content generated. A sample of a basic custom HTML section file might contain:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.1//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml11/DTD/xhtml11.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <title>Basic custom HTML section file</title> </head> <body> <DIV id="usiContent"><!--CENTERPAGE--></div> </body> </html>
You still need to set up any colors specified within the web skin as they could still be applied.
You can add custom CSS and JavaScript into the custom HTML section file, however you must ensure it does not interfere with the existing CSS and JavaScript already on the page. This is particularly important for generic CSS rules (eg. TABLE {property:value;} ) or if you try to include a JavaScript framework such as jQuery, Prototype, or Mootools.
The below instructions are for updating an existing Template Web Skin but you can use the same process for Custom Web Skins. Use the Edit link next to the Web Skin drop-down on the appropriate online application configuration screen.
To upload the custom HTML section file:
- Click the Web Skins link from the Main Menu. The Web Skins page opens.
- Select the web skin to update with the custom HTML section file.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Web Skin window opens.
- Expand the Page Sections section.
- Select Upload a custom HTML section file from Web Skin Options.
- Click Browse. The Open screen opens.
- Navigate to the HTML file and select it.
- Click Open. The file is added to the web skin.
- Click OK.

Is the example custom HTML section file in this article correct ?
Should the HTML contain a complete page with <html> and <body> elements ?
(seems strange, since in my tests, the custom HTML section file is inserted into the element <div id="div-custom-html-section">)
Is it actually possible to include javascript in the custom HTML section file ?
When I try it, I can see that my script tags are inserted in the page (in <div id="div-custom-html-section">), but they are not executed...

I'm wondering the same thing as Hannes Eklund. Is there something I'm not seeing or is the documentation outdated?

Hi Maximilian,
The template is still the same with the exception of a div tag around CENTERPAGE so it would look something like:
