Affiliations are used to assign attributes to accounts and contacts. For example, you can designate hotels as Downtown Property, Spa Hotel or Airport Property, assign a VIP affiliation to your most important accounts and contacts, or assign a Newsletter affiliation to designate the contacts who subscribe to your organization's newsletter.
Multiple affiliations can be assigned to an account or contact. Affiliations are often used to help search, create lists, or create campaigns for accounts/contacts that meet a specific criteria. For information on assigning affiliations to accounts/contacts, see Account and Contact Affiliations.
Affiliation groups help organize affiliations into different categories. Sometimes, the same affiliation fits into more than one category, and using groups lets you separate it. For example, higher education might have a STEM affiliation that applies to elementary, middle, and high school. You can create a group for each school level (elementary, middle, and high school) to better target your accounts or contacts. However, you don't need to use affiliation groups to create affiliations.

Hi Kris,
It is good to hear from you! There is no specific access privilege but we could use access management restrictions. Can you please give me an example of what you are trying to do?
Thank you!
