Summary
This document will outline the process for installing the XML Import Utility. More information about required XML formats, fields, and usage can be found in ..\Import\Help once the Utility is installed. This document assumes that the desired operating method is to simply click on the XML icon and have XML files processed automatically.
Note: There is no upgrade for the XML Import Utility. If you have a previous version of the Utility, you must uninstall it first, and then install the new version. If this is the case, Steps 3 and 4 can be skipped. Just add the .ini file path to the new shortcut
Step 1 – Download Files
Download the NewGen_XML_Imports.zip from the Momentus Technologies FTP site. It is located within the Additional_Interfaces folder under your version of Momentus Enterprise.
Step 2 – Run Setup.exe
Extract the contents of the zip folder to the machine that will be processing the XML files. This can be any machine that can run EBMS. Once the files are extracted on this machine, run Setup.exe. Click next until you come to the Setup Type screen. On the Setup Types screen, select Typical to install to C:\Program Files\Ungerboeck\Import. NEVER choose Compact. If you select custom, do not make the file path any longer than the typical installation's file path.
Click next until the installation is complete.
Step 3 – Create Input & Output Folders
The Utility will need folders to temporarily hold the XML files before and after processing. These folders must be named Input, Output, and Logs.
- They can be placed wherever as long as they are in the same directory. For example, C:\XML\Input and C:\XML\Output.
Step 4 – Configure .ini File
- Check the Service Release folder to see if there is an XML Import File. If there is this would need to be downloaded and applied.
- Rename the .ini file from sample.ini to xmlimport.ini
- Save the file to the new XML folder and change the extension to .ini.
- Right-click on usiimport.exe and select Send To > Desktop (create shortcut).
- Right-click on the shortcut and select Properties.
- At the end of the Target line, add a space then enter the full file path of the .ini file. For example, C:\XML\XmlImportConfig.ini.
Step 5 – Applying a Service Release to the XML Import Utility
1. Download the appropriate service release from the FTP site. The XML service release level should match the Enterprise BackOffice service release level.
2. Extract the contents of the service release over the C:\Program Files\Ungerboeck\Import folder contents.

Here's an Update on this article for the latest version
1. There's no Service Release for the XML import tool so skip step 5
2. Do Not copy and paste the ini sample from appendix A due to line breaks causing the connection string to error:
your ini file should look like this:
The connection string user ID and password need to be all on the same line.
There are Sample and Help Files missing from the current installation files if you are new to the tool please contact your client care to get those files sent to you.
