If you have problems with any web-based software, you may be asked to clear your Internet Explorer cache during troubleshooting. This process is built into Internet Explorer and purges your machine of cookies, temporary internet files, and browser history.
To clear your Internet Explorer cache, follow the below steps:
- Click the Tools button in Internet Explorer. This button is usually located in the upper-right corner of the screen and resembles a gear.
- Select Internet Options. The Internet Options screen opens.
- Click the Delete button in the Browsing history section. The Delete Browsing History screen opens.
- Uncheck the Preserve Favorites website data check box.
- Check the Temporary Internet files and website files and Cookies and website data check boxes. You may opt to check the other options if desired but is not necessary for troubleshooting the software.
- Click the Delete button.
