Snapping, or Snap Logic, is the magnetic feature within Room Diagramming that "snaps" an item into place on a drawing. The location of the snapping depends on the configured settings.
Available snapping options include:

- You can use all Snapping options with or without the grid displayed on the window.
- If Snap to Grid is enabled, it will override other snap settings.
- Distance Snap and Align Snap can be used together.
Snap to Grid
The Snap to Grid option snaps items to the intersection of two gridlines.
To use the Snap to Grid functionality on a Room Diagram:
- Click the Home menu tab.
- Click Snap Enabled. The feature is active when the button is highlighted.
- Click the Display menu tab.
- Click Grid Settings. The Grid Settings window opens.
- Click the Snap to Grid toggle button to enable.
- In the grid size field, enter your desired measurement. This will become the height and width of a single grid square.
- Click OK.
Distance Snap
The Distance Snap option snaps items at a specific distance from nearby items. You determine the distance using the Snap Interval field.
To use the Distance Snap functionality on a Room Diagram:
- Click the Home menu tab.
- Click Snap Enabled. The feature is active when the button is highlighted.
- Click the Display menu tab.
- Click Grid Settings. The Grid Settings window opens.
- Click the Distance Snap toggle button to enable.
- In the Snap Interval field, enter your desired measurement. The units used are set in the Room Diagram window's Details tab in the Units field.
- Click OK.
Align Snap
The Align Snap option snaps items in alignment with nearby items.
To use the Align Snap functionality on a Room Diagram:
- Click the Home menu tab.
- Click Snap Enabled. The feature is active when the button is highlighted.
- Click the Display menu tab.
- Click Grid Settings. The Grid Settings window opens.
- Click the Align Snap toggle button to enable.
- Click OK.
