You can use the Allow Execution of Secure Reports access privilege to control who has access to run certain reports. You can configure a report as a Secure report and then use the access privilege to allow or prevent access to run the report. To configure this security, you need to set up which reports are marked as secure and then set up the access privilege.
Configure Secure Reports
To configure which reports are secure reports:
- Click the Report Master link from the Main Menu. The Report Master page opens.
- Select the report to set as secure.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Report Master window opens.
- Check the Secure box. You may need to add this to your screen layout if it is not available.
- Click OK. Repeat for all reports you need to set to secure.
Configure the Access Privilege
After configuring your secure reports, set up the access privilege to allow or prevent access to run the report.
- Click the Access Privileges link from the Main Menu. The Access Privileges page opens.
- Select the Allow Execution of Secure Reports access privilege.
- Right-click and select Edit. The Edit Access Privilege window opens.
- Click Manage in the Access Privilege Details tab. The Assign Access Privileges window opens.
- Move the roles/users who should have access to run the secure reports from the Available panel to the Selected panel.
- Click OK.
By default, all roles and users you assign to this access privilege can run all secure reports. You can take this security to an additional level and allow roles or users access to only certain secure reports.
- Select the Access Privileges Details tab from Edit Access Privilege screen.
- Select the role/user to further restrict access.
- Right-click and select Assign Details. The Assign Details window opens.
- Select the Secure reports the role/user has access to run from the Available panel and move them to the Selected panel.
- Click OK.
